Bound in Blood

   I could almost hear the crack of my own skull against the cold hard ice. It is if I am bashing my own head against the wall only here,he is doing the bashing, and I think I am a goner. Every second feels like an eternity.It´s as if time itself is being slowed down. I see flashbacks,my life,my childhood. Thoughts and still images are rushing through my mind.Seconds pass but it feels as if I am strapped to a chair and witnessing the projection of that what was,me and my life up til now,still images,grainy but moving so ever faster from one to another. Thoughts race through me as to what will happen,what to do and how the world without me would look. All the people I will leave behind,will I somehow survive to remember or is this how my life ends.As all of this is happening,I see the scarlet red blood cover the darkness of ice under the covers of the night. The hunt is over now

   Running through the tall grass. Wind is blowing through my hair.My long hair flowing in the wind. Knife in hand. I am ready. He will not touch me. No more!I will not be another one,I will not be next. I refuse. I run. I don’t stop,I don’t look. I push my legs to run as fast as I can. I hear him behind me,he is getting closer. I am sweating.Heart leaping out of my chest. Hard to breathe,hard to run,need to stop but can’t. He is closer,and closer and closer until he is right behind me. I am dead. Down. Knocked out. Alive? He raises his hand,the blade shines moonlight on me. Silver.It is over. It is done. With a single strike,the blood splattered in front of him. The job is done. Another successful night. It was a close one but nobody gets away from him. The night continues. The hunt goes on.    Another night. Tall grass. Sweat,tears,blood. The straw hat moves in the moonlight. Now,falling off the head of the yet another victim of the hunt,down to the cold ear...
