Alice

Alice. That was her name. Everyone loved her and would describe her as full of life, sweet, smart girl. Nobody expected to find her in the middle of the road in town square, on one of these days. Nobody ever expected anything like this. Not in this quiet, small town. Not here, not today. Of all the people it was Alice. Beautiful, very smart girl. She aced high school, great career prospects and lots of friends. Why?Who?How?
It was a cold day and lately it’s been raining a lot. It seemed like it will be a cold wet autumn this year, more so than usual. The crowd started to gather around. Crowd of horrified and disturbed faces. You could clearly see the anger in some and fear in the others. This has never happened. Who would do such a thing and will it happen again?
Was it random or cold and calculated? The air was cold that day, clouds gathered and many feared that worst is yet to come. Even though people in this town knew each other well and were close, now everyone was wary and everyone was a suspect. The atmosphere was tense and heavy.
There she lied, alone, helpless and dead. Her red dress was matching the colour of her blood, the same blood which enveloped her beautiful, dark, charcoal hair. She was a slim fragile girl and you can see marks clearly around her wrists. She was tied down, and then shot in the head. It was cold, seemed calculated and it frightened the whole town.
It started to rain. Police showed up and even they were surprised with what they saw. A murder, in this town. It’s Alice, how could anyone do this. Everyone heard she was planning to move to the big city. “New life! The big dream”-she used to say, people who knew her wished her the best, and only were excited for her. Seems like, not everyone agreed and she was destined to never leave this town.
Police gathered around the scene of the crime, investigation has been launched and people were sent home. Multiple police officers asked people not to panic or speculate and the crowd headed home. Who would do such a thing and will it happen again?
The worst was yet to come.
