The story of the song..

   Many people heard the story of the abyss. The story of the drop,the hole in the ground,the abyss and the end of the earth,whatever you wanna call it. Many people heard it,the singing. Select few have been down there and told the story,and oh,it’s a good one. Everything you have heard,it’s true.

   So the story is that there is this abyss,pure dark,massive hole,a big drop. Pretty much most people don’t know where it leads,what is down there and how did the hole came to be. However,most people can agree on the singing. From deep within the caverns,from deep darkness comes the singing. It is faint but, you can clearly make it out. It’s a young woman. Soft sweet voice,singing. It sounds so sad,so melancholic. It is as if she sings for someone,she is sad,mourning. Many have reported the song,so beautiful but oh so sad. Nobody can make out the words, but it is a song and it is a very sad one.

    Some people have been down there. Just a couple apparently. They said that there is nothing but the dark,cold,wet and dark. A deep dark cave,deep underground. People have reported feeling the cold,feeling distressed and depressed. They could all hear the singing coming from deep within the came. Can’t make it out but you know it is beautiful,it is sad..it’s that song. Weirdly,everyone who did come back,was admitted to hospital. Not for anything physical. It was mental check ups. These people have reported the feelings of depression,unexplainable sadness..It drove some of them to suicide. It is a bit much linking the song to depression but they connect. People went down there only to suffer from pain and sorrow and sadness. Creepy huh?

   So Apparently the legend,story goes..There was a house on top of the hill,overlooking the field. A young couple was living in the house and they were happy and in love. One day,the man was summoned for the army and he left. She,the young woman,was left all alone in the house,in the middle of nowhere. She said that she will look out at the field to see him come over the horizon and she will sing for him to come. Travellers reported hearing the song come from the house every day and they did see the woman looking out of the window. However,years have passed and the man was not back. Apparently,the woman was still alone in the house,rarely coming out to town for food and goods and she would keep on singing for years only..only with years the song has gotten more sad. People sad that woman was looking lost,confused,dazed,depressed and just a shadow of her former self.Some people have reported woman started to scream from sorrow at night. It was horrifying hearing screams coming from the house,from the fields,in the middle of the night,so loud and piercing. With time the ground around the house got unstable. All the local digging for farming and well’s, did not do it any good, and sink holes started to appear. People called on to a woman,to leave the house for safety,they pleaded with her,for her own good. She would never leave,she kept saying how she had a promise to keep and she was waiting for her beloved. It is sad. One day a massive sinkhole swallowed the ground and the house with it. Locals came to help but of course,nothing was left.She went down with that house. People can still hear the woman’s scream in the night as she was falling. She went down with her house,fast.Nobody ever saw her again,her beloved never returned either.

   It is a sad story. Ever since the house collapsed however,they say the singing is coming from deep within the ground. She still lives,she still sings and waits..Some people say they can even hear her cry sometimes. It is so sad. That’s the story anyways..Others say it’s her spirit being lost,uneasy,looking and waiting for her love. It’s weird but I myself,I know I heard the song..
